The Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO) gives women money for educational purposes. The group wants to help those who experience an interruption in their pursuit of an education. You must have an active enrollment status in school and be within two years of graduating. 

You can apply for the Soroptimist Live Your Dreams Award if you are a woman who is the primary earner in your home and has a low income. You must also be enrolled in a four-year or vocational school. You can apply between August and mid-November.

If you are a survivor of domestic abuse, you may be able to apply to the Women’s Independence Scholarship Program (WISP). The scholarship aims to help women become independent and regain self-sufficiency through employment.

You can apply online any time of year, but you must have separated from your abusive partner for at least a year. 

The Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Scholarship is for low-income mothers. This program is special because you can use the funds for educational expenses and child care expenses. The grant gives five women financial awards up to $5,000.

You must be at least 17 years of age, meet the income restrictions, and be working towards your associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
